5 Stage Protection
| Sediment Pre
filter. This is the first filtration level of the Kinetico Drinking water System. A five micron filter (which filters down to 1/16th of the diameter of a human hair) reduces the amount of extremely small particulate matter and sediment in the water which might affect membrane efficiency or cause damage to the membrane. |

| R.O. Module. After pre filtration, the water travels to the reverse osmosis module. The water is forced through a semipermeable membrane leaving heavy metals and compounds such as arsenic, lead, mercury and nitrates to be flushed to drain. |

MAC Post filter. The metered Automatic Cartridge filter, the final protection stage, contains a densely compacted carbon block to reduce VOC's the taste and odor of chlorine and to polish the water. When the filter has reached it's capacity, it turns the system off preventing captured contaminates from reaching your tap. |

Patented MACguard FilterTM Programmed Maintenance - Automatic shutoff is a built-in maintenance reminder. After 500 gallons (about 12-18 months for a family of 3) of Kinetico Water have been made, the system shuts down signaling the time to change the filters. A simple filter change restores the flow of water. Essential protection to prevent carbon filter overuse. If overused, contaminants previously removed will be dumped into the treated water making it worse rather than better!
